The magic of Halloween is its gift of imagination combined with togetherness of family, friends, and community. We get to transform into something other than ourselves and embrace our creative sides. At Wondercide, we call this season “Wonderween!”
Wonderween is our unique take on this spooktacular holiday where the furrier family members get to participate in the festivities with us. Afterall, a holiday is not complete until pets have their fun, too! We’re here to help you and your family enjoy a fun-filled, costume-joyous Wonderween with these ideas to maximize your Wonderween experience.
How to participate in the Wonderween contest
We love Wonderween so much and we’re relishing the fun and joy for the whole month of October! From October 10th to the 31st you’ll have a chance to win prizes with the help of your pet in our Wonderween costume contest. This is your chance to bring your favorite pet Pinterest boards to life and create the adorable look your flurry pal was born to flaunt.
So how can you participate? Simply share a photo or video of your Wonderween costume on social using #Wonderween and tagging us @wondercide on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn or TikTok.
Prizes that you and your fur-baby will love
Besides bragging rights and a super cute photoshoot opportunity, by entering the Wonderween contest, you’ll have the chance to win lots of nifty prizes, in honor of Wondercide’s 15th anniversary this year.
Three grand prize winners win a $150 Amazon gift card and our top plant-powered pest control for interiors: 32 oz Indoor Pest Control, Flying Insect Trap starter kit, and Ant & Roach spray to keep the ghoulish bugs away this fall and winter.
Fifteen finalists will win our Wondercide sling bag and two Peppermint bug sprays for pets and people. Safety tips
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. So, let’s stick to the fun and games. You may be extra excited to slip an adorable costume on your furry friend, but they may be more reluctant. It’s important to remember that your pet’s comfort comes first and anything that makes them scratch, bark, or not be able to breathe should be avoided. Be sure to leave the costumes loose and try to use a soft material. Also remember to avoid face-coverings or anything that may stifle your pet’s ability to breathe. For any masks or coverings, slip it on for the picture and then remove it right away to ensure your pup is a healthy and happy camper!
It’s also important to be mindful of any choking hazards. If your family costumes come with any small props, it’s a good idea to be mindful of a curious animal who might see it as a new chew toy.
When out and about trick-or-treating or parading, be on alert for the scariest monsters in the neighborhood: bugs! Fall is a prime time for creepy crawlers such as ticks, fleas, and mosquitos to hunt their prey. Due to the damp fall climate, these bugs thrive this time of year, causing outdoor activities to become a little less enjoyable. Luckily, we can help with that!
